Comfy Clothes for Back to School / College / Uni

So as most of us will know, its back to college/school/university soon!
I don't usually buy a bunch of new clothes, but I was recently looking on BooHoo.com and found they have some super nice, super cheap clothes which would be perfect for those lazy week days!

I ordered two oversized, v-neck tshirts which I think would look great with some white jeans (as shown) or patterned leggings and my plimsoles. Layering necklaces can also make this outfit look a little more chic and a little less lazy and slouchy... But these tops are super comfortable and a must-have for those last-minute outfit choices before heading out in the morning. Also, for £10?! They are a total bargain and are very similar to those sold in Topshop.

Now, I've also become a little smock/babydoll dress obsessed over the summer period! These dress-styles are very in-fashion lately and I think they are super cute - but most importantly VERY comfortable. I ordered three new dresses off BooHoo which I think would look super cute with tights and an oversized boyfriend style jacket for these colder months coming up? I've been dying to get an American Apparel babydoll dress, but don't want to spend £42 (wah!) so for now, these dresses will do the job as they look the exact same and are almost a fraction of the price - ranging from £5-£12!

BooHoo is full of fashionable and most importantly affordable clothes! So if your looking for a few new pieces for your wardrobe - check them out!

Thanks for reading. Let me know if you would like to see a Back to School/College/Uni clothes lookbook :)

Quick MAC Haul & Review

Over the past couple of weeks I've been focusing on getting some new makeup, rather than spending all my money on clothes which I don't need! I'm also looking at changing up my makeup storage, so if any of you have any good pieces I can buy to store my makeup then please leave a comment below!
But as you can see, I went a little crazy in MAC! I was desperate to try some new brighter, more nude products - rather than the dark products I am drawn to most of the time.

Lip Liners have never really stood out for me in the market, but after reading some reviews and watching some videos on YouTube I decided to purchase some to give a try. And to say the least, I have been LOVING them. They really do add definition to your lips and I believe make my lipstick last longer than normal.
Naked Liner is perfect for those of you who love a nude lip.. for me it is a little too light but I am sure I will find some use out of it. The other two are also perfect for obviously darker and lighter pinks. The MAC lip liners are a really high quality but I'm also excited to try some from the Drugstore to compare.

Now Lipsticks have always been my favourite makeup collectable piece, especially MAC lipsticks. These three colours (From left to right: Divine Choice, Fan Fare and Myth) are new favourites in my collection! As I am usually drawn to more darker lip colours, these were new shades for me to try and I do love them (maybe not as much as my darker colours though!)
I think nude/light pink lips are going to be a new thing for me, especially on those lazy college days..

We all know how MAC brushes are super expensive, but they are also super great and last a real long time! I've been wanting to increase my brush collection for a long time, as I have a limited amount of eyeshadow brushes to work with. So the 217 is a great new buy! I've tried it already and love it! Its perfect for blending out colours or even applying one colour to the whole lid for a simple look. This is a definite must-have in your MAC kit...

I'm not sure if its the weather, or my new skin routine, but I've found on some days my skin can end up being super oily towards the end of the day. I've never suffered with anything like this before and I was recommended to buy the Mac Blot Film. If you've never seen or heard of these, they are like little pieces of paper (film) which you press onto your face and they magically get rid of the oil but keep on your makeup! So far I am loving them! A must-have for your handbag.. They are super handy..

Lastly, A new blush. Now i'm pretty plain Jane when it comes to blushes, I've been using the same MAC one for over a year everyday (I don't know the name as its faded since I use it that much).. So I thought it was about time I branch out and try a new blush. Now this is called Immortal Flower and is a super pretty baby, light pink which sits perfectly on the cheeks. You can build it up to make it more intense, but just a light dab and this looks lovely and very flattering. I'd say this is the perfect blush for those of you who are just starting out with experimental makeup.. as its not too much but also noticeable on the skin.

Thank you for reading guys! Let me know if you have any of these products and what you think of them? Also any MAC recommendations would be appreciated.

The Liebster Award

First of all, I'm so sorry about my lack of posting. I've had some problems with my email password and couldn't log onto my Blog. Grr, frustrating! But I think its sorted now so I'M BACK... So be expecting more posts soon.

So on my return I realised I'd been nominated for the very popular Liebster Award by two lovely bloggers
I thought I would kill two birds with one stone and do both at the same time! So thank you ladies .. and don't forget to check out both their awesome blogs!! X

The Rules
1. Thank the person who nominated you by linking their blog.
2. Answer 11 questions the nominator gave to you.
3. Nominate 11 other bloggers who have less than 200 followers.
4. Create 11 questions for your nominees.
5. Let the nominees know they have been nominated by contacting them.

DimpleBug's Questions

1. If you could have a dinner party and invite anybody, dead or alive, who would it be?
Probably Cara Delevingne, she seems fun! If a guy, definitely Ed Westwick who plays the charming Chuck Bass!

2. Do you have a foolproof beauty trick that you swear by, and what is it?
Heating up my eyelash curler! Just putting it under my hairdryer for a couple of seconds makes such a difference. Also, use 2 or more mascaras, I find one just isn't enough plus each mascara has a different speciality (thickness, length etc) so mixing and matching is great!

3. Why do you blog?
I love reading blogs and have done for a while but never really wrote any of my own posts! It's a great thing to do in my spare time and I love writing about my opinions in reviews etc. Plus its a great way to meet other fashion/make-up lovers!

4. Who is your favourite actor or actress and why?
Actor = Johnny Depp, he is amazing at what he does and never fails to amaze me how he can play a wide range of such amazing characters!
Actress = Rachel McAdams, the Vow, Mean Girls and The Notebook are some of my favourite films and she's just amazing!

5.What kind of music do you listen to the most?
I listen to House music most of the time.. but when i'm in a bad mood I tend to listen to more slow, "sad" music! Follow my Soundcloud to hear some of the music i'm into! I follow back!

7. Do you have any special talents or skills?
I wouldn't say so.. My mum always says i'm a computer wiz though and is forever making me do things for her!

8. What's been your proudest moment?
Probably getting my GCSE / A-Level results. I'm really not that confident and always doubt myself but end up doing much better than expected.

9. Tell us something weird about yourself.
I love watching documentaries about fish - no idea why, very weird I know!

10. One thing you love about yourself.
I love my eyes! They are blue (which is my favourite colour) and doing eye-makeup is my favourite thing.

11. If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?
Probably what most people would do such as go into clothes shops and steal everything, without hopefully being noticed! I'd also love to go into peoples houses and just see what they do when they are on their own ... In a non weird way haha!

Marina Paradis Questions

1. Why did you start blogging?
I've always read blogs and found them interesting, so I guess that was a main influence on me starting my own. I also find myself forever buying new clothes and makeup, and love pairing outfits together and even writing reviews. I'd love to start a youtube channel but I don't think i'd be that confident talking infront of a camera

2. What is your ideal blogging environment?
My favourite time and place to blog is in the evenings when i'm in bed with a cup of tea!

3. Do you have a signature scent?
I recently re-purchased Flora by Gucci - so you could say that would be my signature scent at the moment!

4. What is your favourite style era?
90's! Jeans, miniskirts. A lot of which is coming back into fashion these days.

5. Who is your favourite designer?
My favourite style pieces are handbags, so my favourite bag designer is Miuccia Prada!
(Unforuntately I don't have my own - YET!)

6. What is the most amazing place you have been to?
Dubai! Amazing beaches, buildings and weather!

7. What is one advice you would give to your younger self?
Treat people how they treat you and don't try too hard and waste your time on those who wouldn't do the same for you.

8. What is your all time favourite TV series?
At the moment, PRISON BREAK! But all time would have to be either The Walking Dead or Gossip Girl (of course)

9. If you could have brunch with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
Answered above ^

10. Summer or Winter?
Hot summer days (which we don't get much of in the UK) and holidays.
But winter fashion (big coats and hats are my favourite!)

11. If you could be any cartoon character who would it be?
 A minion!!

My Questions

1. Which beauty product could you not live without?
2. High end or drugstore makeup?
3. Which phone app are you addicted to?
4. If you could marry and live happily ever after with ANY celebrity who would it be?
5. Who is your favourite TV Series character and why?
6. Handbags or shoes?
7. Most embarrassing song you have on your iPod/iPhone?
8. If you had £1000 to spend in ONE store, which one would it be?
9. Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

PURPLE LIP CRAZY

Top to bottom:
Rimmel London - Sugar Plum 086
MAC - Rebel
Avon - Wine Kiss
Revlon - 457 Wild Orchid
MAC - Heroine

So even though summer is known for its 'bright lips' trend where each brand releases a line of bright oranges, pinks and red lipsticks, I have been all for the darker colours this summer. Especially purple!
Everytime I see a new purple lipstick in the store in instantly fall in-love - and I have FINALLY got my hands on Mac Heroine! This lipstick is a gorgeous strong purple colour, and I believe its only recently been released in the UK as i've been looking for a few months in-store. And lets just say, i'm so glad I finally have my hands on it.
But other than Heroine, there are various purple-toned lipsticks I've bought which are really high quality and I have listed 5 of my favourite one! Most of these retail at much cheaper than MAC's £15.50 lipsticks and can be bought from most drugstores or online!

Simple Summer Style

So as soon as I saw this awesome kimono/sheer button-up dress in Primark I insantly had to get it!! I love the pattern and colours and really helps brighten up a potentially plain outfit.
I paired this with my black Missguided Tent Dress (a summer must-have!) which I think works really well contrasting against the patterned kimono.
This outfit is perfect for those long days out shopping - which is exactly what I wore it for - and therefore paired it with my new favourite bag. Surprisingly I found this in Next - a shop I never shop in! The white faux leather looks great against the black dress and is a massive change from my usual black shopper bags I always wear. Its spacious, light-weight and fashionable - everything you need in a handbag!

Summer Drugstore Favourites

As for makeup, i'm usually a total MAC girl, using all their amazing foundations, brushes and eyeshadows. But sometimes MAC prices can be a little too much when ALL my makeup seems to run out at the same time.
But after doing some drugstore hunting, i've found and made a list of a couple of my favourite items which can be used in your everyday makeup routine - and some are amazing quality for low prices!

MUA
MUA seems to be a brand everybody raves about, but i've never tried many of their products. But at my latest trip to Boots, I decided to pick up 3 products from their range - a concealer, highlighter and eyeshadow palette. First of all, lipstick shaped concealears are my favourites, but this MUA one for just £1.99 is the best and a definite new favourite. Alongside this, the highlighter also works great and is amazing quality for the price (just £3). I did a swatch to show you the lovely colour it gives and really looks great and very natural once you build it up a little. Last thing, the palette. I've forever used MAC eyeshadows or my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette, yet picked this up as it was supposed to be much like a replica of the Naked Palette. But yes, its not far off. The colours are all quite natural, and create a great smokey eye when you use them all together. The applicator brush you get is a little rubbish, to say the least, but for just £4 the brush is the last thing on my mind. Even though I do still prefer my Naked Palette and tend to go back to using that over anything else, this is a great little palette to throw in your bag or take when travelling as its not much money if it gets damaged or lost.

LIPSTICKS
After buying these two new Barry M colours - 53 and 156 - I have officially been converted to a Barry M lover. Alongside their nail varnishes which i'm a huge fan of, the brand seemed to have also pulled it off with their lipsticks. Both colours are very long lasting and are not too dramatic to be used both in the day and at night. I personally love 156, the dark maroon/purple colour as it adds a POP to any natural summer makeup looks your pulling off and really compliments the face.
But as its summer, the heat (the very little of it which we have in the UK) always dries out my lips. So I went for a more moisturising lip product which also gave me colour and the best answer for this is the Babylips range by Maybelline. I bought this gorgeous purple colour from their new range and its not only moisturising to my lips, it adds the most lovely colour, and is a definite must buy for anyones summer makeup bag!

EYES
For me, eyes are the main and best part of a makeup routine. I love big, bold eyelashes and natural-looking yet defined eyebrows. A product which has been my favourite mascara for over a year now is the Volume Million Lashes by Loreal. I just keep re-purchasing this product! Its a TOTAL MUST HAVE and hands down the best mascara i've ever tried - and believe me i've tried a lot. Another long-time favourite is the Eyebrow Pencil by Rimmel London. I find the eyebrow pencils much easier than the eyebrow kits, and after drawing my eyebrows on for what seems like forever, this pencil is the most reliable and precise. It stays on ALL through the day, until you scrub it off at night with a face wipe. For around £3.99, its a definite buy and something so easy to throw in your bag to also top up your eyebrows throughout the day.

So even though MAC is and will always be my favourite makeup brand, I do find myself including more and more drugstore makeup into my daily routine and these products are now ones I cannot live without!
I'd love to hear any of your drugstore favourites too...

Pretty Patterns

Blue crop top - Topshop
Jungle crop top - AmericanApparel
Leotard - AmericanApparel
Jungle Bikini - Primark
White Flatforms - Topshop
Gingham Skater Shoes - Topshop
Fedora Hat - Topshop

Holiday shopping - everyone's chance to buy the brightest, most abstract patterns in the shop without having to brace wearing them out in the horrible British weather.
After online shopping, spending all my holiday savings, I've finally purchased all of my holiday clothes which I'm a little too excited to wear! Topshop, Missguided, American Apparel... So many nice clothes for sale at the moment, so definitely go check them out!
But it's not just clothes to get excited about - shoes too! Patterned skater shoes are so in-fashion lately and Topshop have made various pairs which are all gorgeous and a summer must-have! And can't forget the latest flatform craze, a personal favourite of mine, which look great with practically any outfit - from dresses, to skirts or even with your bikini.
